Luker doo is now 7 months old and has been busy the past few weeks! What's new right? Haven't been swimming lately since there was a change in weather recently. We've enjoyed the cooler, much less humid weather, and now the rain. It's nice for when I try to take an afternoon nap with Luke before I go into work! Anyhow, he was dedicated, went to grandma and grandpa Kandel's surprise party, and had his 6 month appointment. In addition to the sitting up, Luke is now able to get onto all fours, but that's about it! He kinda rocks sometimes and then flops to him belly again. He's gonna be a wild child when he can crawl! He is into a new squeal, almost a high pitched cat sound. You think he's whining, but it's just one of his weird noises he likes to make! His loud laugh is so adorable too that we take any opportunity to tickle, make sounds, or suck on his fingers/toes to get him to do it. Luke's antics on the changing table are getting more frustrating, but I can't help but laugh sometimes. Any time we put him down to change his diaper, he IMMEDIATELY flips to his belly. We try to be firm and tell him no, but he just giggles and tries again. Eventually we get him to stop! Ornery little guy! He loves his sippy cup and wants any kind of food. No teeth yet though!
Took this the other day. This was the bear he got as a gift when he was born. I thought I'd sit him next to it and see how big he looks! He's sitting in the same position as the bear...haha! Not very amused though! Daddy and Grandma Estes had to take him to his appointment cause mommy of course had to work :( I was SOOO upset! (He was a little behind since his 6 month appointment falls 5 days before he's 7 months old!) The Dr. says he looks GREAT and to keep doing whatever we're doing! He was 26 3/4 inches long, 15 lbs 11 oz, and his head was 42.5 cm. He's growing equally, but still around the 15th percentile in everything! I don't mind that he's a little guy cause at least he fits into the appropriate sized clothes so far!
PARTY!
Friday night was a surprise 50th Birthday, 30th Anniversary party for my parents at the Hartville Kitchen. We had 48 people all together and it was really nice! My mom had known about it, but my dad was TOTALLY surprised. Should've seen his face when he walked in! This is just a picture of the cake table. We had one for each occassion :) Of course we concentrated more on the Over the Hill Birthday!
The birthday boy and girl with their special garb.
Geriatric bibs they received as one of their gag gifts My handsome hubby and a dazed little Luke!
Luke started out "reading" his book in the stoller......
Then EATING his book in the stroller.
If those aren't some ornery eyes, I don't know what is!
Goofy goofy smile!
DEDICATION
David and I were incredibly blessed to have about 30 family members present for one of the most special days in our son's life! Sunday August 5 we dedicated Luke to the Lord. Us, our family, and our church promised to guide and direct his path in Christian faith as he grows. I couldn't help but get teary-eyed!
Luke just wanted to play with the Pastors beard! Poor little guy had behaved himself so well in the service till it was his turn! It was even nap time!
Pastor Mike introducing Luke David Estes to the congregation :)
Mommy and her sleepy baby boy!
Grandma Estes invited EVERYONE back to their house for a lunch and celebration! She made chicken and all kinds of good stuff for us to feast on! This was the beautiful cake she ordered for Luke.
