Summer moving too quickly......

I can't believe I'm finding myself updating this and tomorrow it will be July! I remember as a kid that the 4th of July was the downward slide toward school starting again. Now it's just the downward slide to winter. BLAH! Anyhow, I will not speak anymore of that depressing season! David and I just c elebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 21st and were able to go out and have a really nice evening to ourselves :) We are truly enjoying the summertime weather! Haven't been able to get out just the 3 of us to do things, but oh well, we're still having fun! Hope everyone else it having a wonderful summer as well! Not a whole lot of new stuff ( well just little things), no major milestones yet. Still working on the sitting, and what to do once we're on our belly. Luke LOVES his belly... almost every time I change his diaper he flips over on the changing table and sleeps like that EVERY night too. Aunt Dana (David's sister) was just in town and got to see him for the first time since the hospital when he was born. She and grandma watched him a couple of days. He's been healthy and for the most part happy :) Still drooling a lot, but I don't see or feel any teeth yet. Who knows though, one may pop up and surprise me. He's officially had all the vegetables and has liked every one of them...YEAH! He's learning to use a sippy cup as well. He's good at drinking from it, just need to hold on better and understand you have to tilt it up to get anything out of it! I'm going to call and schedul 6 month pictures since we haven't had any professional ones yet. Figure 6 months is a good time. I think that's it, I'm keeping busy working and taking care of the day to day stuff while David is playing softball for 2 church teams and working a lot as well (as our lawn shows)!! Later! ><>
No sling anymore....big boy bath! Now we're not even using the sponge.

Just a fun picture since he was wearing a bright orange shirt
Reading his book on kittens

Just a silly face

An even sillier face! "Don't come too close!!"

Looks like he should be hitting the sail boat...too bad we don't have one.

Of course on his belly!

Following in daddy's footsteps. :)

Bonding time on Father's Day!!!

At Grandma and Grandpa Kandel's for Father's Day

"Hey mom, look what I can do!"

"I could have sworn my mouth was big enough for this."

"I give up...at least I KNOW my fingers fit!"

Thought we'd let him try some cake icing....didn't end up too well IN his mouth.

A true OSU fan! He's hoping for a better year!

Aunt Heather and Luke at cousin Sam's graduation party

Me and sissy Heather :)

Poor Luke was SUCH a good boy all day at the party and eventually got so exhausted he actually fell asleep being held (which NEVER happens) He always looks so big to me until I see a picture like this and realize how small he still is :)

My handsome hubby giving cousin Weston a shoulder ride at the party

Such a cutie :) His shirt says "Best in Show" with a weiner dog. HA!

Somebody help me out here.....how do I get over there?

Luke met our good friend Leo. He's never seen a Columbian before, can you tell? :)
Luke LOVED being up on my shoulders, and then proceeded to LOVE pulling my hair!

"I think I see a gray hair daddy...hold still and I'll get it for you!"
Where did all these toys come from?

Been Awhile.....Luke's 4 Months Old ( well now 4 1/2!!)

Sorry it's been almost a month since I posted, but due to computer technical difficulties I was unable to. Praise the Lord we're up and running again with a new harddrive. Luke is 4 1/2 months now (which is so hard to believe). He's doing new things every day which is SOO much fun to watch! At his 4 month appointment that daddy and grandma Estes took him to (10 days AFTER he was 4 months) he was....
Weight - 13 lbs 6 oz -----------66th percentile
Length - 25 1/4 inches --------55th percentile
Head size - 42 cm -------------16th percentile
He got 4 more shots that he just cried for a minute when he got them and then stopped when daddy picked him up. The Dr. says he is just perfect, very impressed with how he holds his head up. He of course is at that stage of looking at EVERYTHING and trying to put EVERYTHING in his mouth! Still sleeping very well, except getting up a little earlier sometimes, around 6:30 or so....but he's ready to go back to bed by about 8:30 and of course mommy goes back to bed sometimes too! I'm in my new position in the NICU and really really like it. I've been working 4 days a week, Three 8 hr shifts and one 12 hour shift each week. Getting up at 5 am is not enjoyable, but it's nice to get home earlier. Luke has been eating some rice cereal and just started with some of the baby foods. We've had carrots and sweet potatoes so far. He was quite fond of the sweet potatoes as you will see in a picture. He's still just rolling from back to belly, and working on how to get back.....almost got it. Every night when we put him to bed, by 5 minutes later he's on his stomach and loves to sleep the whole night that way. He scoots to the top of the bed and buries his face in his bumper/blankets/burp cloth. He's making new sounds all the time....not just cooing anymore, but uses different voices, and letters for his "words" like "c" and "g". He smiles when he sees the puppies and reaches out to pet them. Anyhow, things are going very well and so glad the weather is beautiful and it is light out so late. It just puts us all in a better mood!
Having fun undressing :)

He LOVES to examine our faces and touch it while he's laying on his changing table. Here he is poking daddys eye out.

Eating some rice cereal....he much prefers it mixed with some apple juice. ( Hint from my mom)

All smiles :)

Mommy and Lukers one day after work.

We put together his exersaucer a couple of weeks ago and even though he's a little small for it still, he really likes to look at everything and start to reach for them. Have to put a blanket in front of him to help hold him upright!

Little naked boy after a bath :)

Never have gotten a naked butt picture yet, so I thought why not? Don't ya just wanna pinch it?

First time swimming. Daddy bought a little pool for the back yard and one hot evening we filled it and went for our first swim. As you can see by the face, he's not too sure about it! He did really well and didn't cry even though the water was pretty cold!

Before the swim he was smiling.....didn't know what was coming!

This was at Great Aunt Mim's house on Memorial Day. This was his first time in the "Big People's Pool". The water was only 78 degrees, but we were determined to go for a swim since it was such a nice day and don't know when we'd have the time again to go all together. Again, he was not super excited, but also didn't cry.

On his belly of course and having a ball.

Meeting his Great Grandma Hall (my mom's mom) for the first time as they just got back from their 9 month stay in Florida.

I swear he started off with this NOT over his face! I guess he thought the lights were too bright!

Flying in the air like a big boy!

Looking at daddy....and sayin "Come any closer and I'm gonna punch ya!"

The sweet potatoes! We did eventually get him cleaned up :) He ate the whole stinking jar at one sitting....his first time trying them. I'd say I think he likes em.

Luke was sorting the mail and deciding what bills he would pay. I was holding them in my hand while I was talking to him and he reached out for them so I said "sure, you just tell me which ones you'll be responsible for". Ended up he changed his mind and handed them back.

Where did my giraffe go?

Mommy, quit playing games!!
