Baby Shower Part 2

Hello, I'm back again! Here are some postings for the second shower I had on Dec second for my side of the family and friends. My mom and 2 friends Rachel and Brooke helped put everythng together! What a blessing they are! I hope they know how much I appreciate all that they did :) We had around 30 people there and hopefully everyone had lots of fun! We had a yummy lunch of egg/ham/chicken salad croissants, fruit, veggies, potato salad, chips, cheese, etc and of course delicious cake to top it off! Played lots of fun games including a mad lib that had me having a 31 lb baby that was 9 inches long. Holy crap! Picture of the food table Lovin the beautiful gold chairs ;)

Did I mention the cake was delicious??
Party throwers Rachel and Brooke
Rachel's creative talent making a "diaper cake" The inside of the blankets are filled with rolled up diapers. Isn't it cute??? My mommy and sissies all touchin my belly. Waitin for him to kick!

There's that darn belly...

A collection of high school friends! It was great to have a group of us together again after so long! Jen and Rachel in front, then Christina, Sarah, me, Katie, and Lisa.

David and I are so thankful that we have so many friends and family that love us as much as they do. We are truly grateful for people taking time out of their schedules to come and celebrate with us and spoil us with gifts. The Lord takes wonderful care! Thanks to my mom and the girls for throwing a great shower! You guys mean the world to us!

First Baby Shower!

I had my first baby shower on Saturday Nov 25, given by David's wonderful mother and with the help of some other family members. This shower was for his family and church friends. I had worked the three nights before and was pretty exhausted that day, but the thrill of seeing everyone and staying busy kept me going! The tables were decorated beautifully and the food was delicious! They all did such a great job of celebrating the amazing baby! Sheree (David's mom) had everyone bring a life verse for the baby, so now we also have a collection of special scripture started by those who are most important to us. Two of my childhood friends Jessica and Amy. We hardly ever get to see each other :(A picture of me and our baby boy's Grandma Estes. She bought me the wonderful glider chair and ottoman as my gift :) I absolutely LOVE it, and I haven't even used if for the baby yet! :) She also got a us 2 special ornaments and a ton of CUTE CUTE CUTE stuffed animals that were used as center pieces at the tables.

Before I began opening gifts, David's Aunt Carol said a prayer of blessing for David, me, and our baby with all of the family surrounding me. It was a really neat experience!
No shower is complete without OSU gear! We also got socks and a pacifier to match!!
This adorable little onesie says "I fix things with my dad" on it! David was thrilled.
David came after the games so that he could open gifts with me and help tote things home. He had the important job or opening the cards! :)

The day was a complete success and we feel so blessed by everyone's generosity~ The Lord is so good!

Babies Room!

As I mentioned in the last post, here are some pictures of our little boy's room in progress. We need to decorate the walls now and it'll be almost completed! David and I had fun painting the room. It was a lot of work, but so worth it. David did a great job taping off the cream stripes!Anyone who has the Ocean Wonders mobile I'm sure loves it! It plays really sweet music and has a small light that lights down below and then a revolving light above that has fish and other designs that are projected onto the ceiling. I like to go in there at night and turn it on in the dark and it's so peaceful!

Stay tuned for pics and info from my first baby shower :)

Thanksgiving

Let me start by apologizing for my lack of updates! I am now 32 weeks along and can't believe we're hitting the home stretch. Not a whole lot has happened in the last 6 weeks or so since my last posting, but we have done quite a bit with the babies room, which I will post pics of separately. I have been feeling great other than some back aches (especially after working on my feet 13 hours). And just on Thanksgiving night did I start to develop heartburn. I've never had any all my life, so I wasn't sure that's what it was until I confered with David, who suffers daily from this! I had to work nights Wed, Thurs, and Friday over the holiday so David and I had to make our Thanksgiving rounds quickly in the afternoon. We ate at my family's and then went to his paren't house where we had dessert and played some Bingo :)

Me and my sissies Heather and Juile on Thanksgiving (and no, the pink was not planned! :) David's sister Dana and I being goofy. The photographer didn't give us a warning before snapping the shot!
David's cousin in law's Patty and Adrian who are both due in December. Both are having girls...Elly and Zion. Patty (in red) had to be induced this past Saturday the 25th due to toxemia so they are in our prayers.
My handsome husband and me on Thanksgiving :)

A CLOTHED belly picture ---getting bigger by the day :)

Mini Update - 26 weeks

Howdy...I just started my 27 th week and as of October 19, exactly 3 months our little one is due! Yeah! :) These pics are from last week. Things still going smoothly for us here. Last week I had a stretch of days off work to get some organizing done around the house. I definitely put the time to good use, but still got to sleep in. This little boy has been kicking the crap out of me and as he gets to be bigger and bigger, I think by 9 months he's gonna crack my ribs! ( Don't laugh, that happened to a girl I work with!! ) We bought paint for the nursery and hopefully will get to work on that more here in the next few weeks, but David is busy with church obligations and of course HUNTING season is here! Probably the best news I have is that after 3 years of being on a floor at the hospital that I really dislike, I FINALLY got a position in the NICU! I've been trying to get into OB/Labor and Delivery, but have been unable to do so, so I thought why not try NICU. So PRAISE the LORD he has blessed me with this position. I just don't know at this point if I will be starting sometime right after Thanksgiving or waiting until after maternity leave. Either way, I'm outta there! YEAH!While I was working around the house, I caught 3 of our 4 animals sleeping together on the couch. I couldn't resist snapping the picture! We love em to death! I swear our kitty Holly thinks she's a dog!
This is a picture of Abigail Arbaugh again ( previous pics on the blog from her in NICU). She's doing well and is now 5 months old! She's a sweetie pie and will have a playmate here shortly! :)
First off, I absolutely HATE this picture, but David was there and I was actually wearing "real clothes" so I had him take it. Just look at the belly, not the face and hair!
During my time off work I wanted to make something for a baby, and although I know how to knit a blanket, I think it would honestly take me until the child was 5 before I could get it done! So I resorted to a much less domestic project with the fleece blanket. As you can see, one side is a dk blue ( darker than this picture makes it look) and the other side is striped. It took several hours to do, but I was pretty happy with the results. It's a good size and nice N warm! Hopefully he likes it! I know the cats do!

24 Week Update

Hello everyone! It's been 4 weeks or so since I've updated the site, so I thought it was about time. Not a whole lot of exciting stuff has happened since then, but my belly is definitely getting bigger. I have another appointment this week and I'm sure I'll have a large weight gain! This weekend between going out to eat and the Ohio State game and chinese on Sunday, I think right there is 10 lbs!! Things on my end have been wonderful. Feeling the little guy move quite frequently....not sure what he's doing in there, but he's keeping busy! We've been picking up some clothes on sale along the way. Baby shoes and clothes are just as darn expensive as adults it seems! Still throwing names around and having a hard time agreeing on some. The scary thing is that next month is Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, and then basically it's any day after that! Lots to do before then! Anyhow, my sisters were home this weekend with their husband and boyfriend and we all got to hang out and watch the Ohio State game and see them crush Iowa!! Woo hoo! Among our festivities Heathers husband David and my dad decided they wanted to compare belly's with mine. Couldn't help but snap a picture!

Congratulations!!

I must say a big CONGRATS to my friends Amanda and Nathan Stieg! They recently found out that they will be joining the ranks of the rest of us and entering into boy raising! Amanda is due about a week or 2 after me and I'm so very excited that things are going well for them and that they'll be bringing a little boy into the world!

Ultrasound - What's it gonna be??? :)

The day has finally come.....Well, I FINALLY had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday!! I was so excited...but nervous at the same time. I just wanted confirmation that everything is okay and he/she is growing healthy and strong! David took half a day off work so he could come and then we could go do some shopping :) According to the ultrasound, everything looks great. We could see all 10 little fingers and at first he/she had their legs crossed at the ankles and it was so cute! It was moving most of the ultrasound so the tech had some difficulty getting some clear pictures at times. Ha! According to measurements she said the baby is about 1 lb 2 oz. David's eyes were wide and on the screen the whole time. He was so cute to watch.
What am I??? A BOY, or a GIRL??? You can see it's little face looking at you and it's arm and belly. Think it looks like David :)
I'm a BOY!! The tech made sure to point out the special parts. It's like looking at up at him from below. His bum, and two legs spread apart. Now David officially has his litle hunting/fishing buddy :) We're very excited! Having had two sisters though, I'm not quite sure what to do with a boy! I'll have to do my research.

18 Weeks!! :)

Well folks, I've reached the 18 week mark...only 22 more to go! Ha! On Sept 7, I go for my ultrasound and will (God willing) find out if we're having a little David or a little Angela! Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover any "routine" ultrasounds....so this little guy/gal had better cooperate and show itself since the money's coming out of our pccket! Guess that's just the first of MANY expenses to come :) I've only had one dream so far related to the baby. I dreamt that it was a boy....so we'll see. I have this feeling...
At 18 weeks I'm feeling great! No problems at all except for the occassional excruciating pain on my right or left lower belly when I stretch a uterine ligament! But I won't complain:) This whole pregnancy has been very uneventful so far....Praise the Lord! Just this last week I "popped out" a bit. I THINK about a week and a half ago I may have felt the baby move. It was kind of like a popcorn feeling every now and again. And now if I press down firmly on my lower belly and wait I can feel a kick or something. Its very exciting! There is a lot we need to do around the house....just getting organized. The garage and basement being on the top of the list! Anyhow, as summer is coming to a close I hope that any of you still in school have a fun time getting back to the grind! Everyone else take care and know that we love you!

Canoeing at Mohican

Last Saturday, July 29, our whole family went down to the Mohican area to picnic and go canoeing. It was a beautiful day!
The master griller preparing our HUGE 1/2 lb burgers!
Julie's boyfriend Jon and Heather and David around the picnic table
David Brights sister Liz, and Julie with Jon.
Most of our crew dining at the picnic table. Lots of yummy stuff!!! Of course who could eat the other yummy stuff after downing a whole cow it seemed like!
We started canoeing a little after 3 pm. No one else on the river. We actually canoed on the Lake Fork River ( one of the three that flows into the Mohican) and didn't run into anybody else. We had free reign! There was a ton of splashing, tipping and then mosquito biting on our trip. It was really a blast! Looking forward to next year. Before we headed home we stopped and got some ice cream that David Brights dad so nicely treated us to! I was a great day....especially to have us all together again!

14 weeks / Baby's room

This is my LOVELY 14 week picture taken by my hubby. I'm not very fond of it, but it'll have to do for now! As you can see, there is a hint of a tummy coming out. Getting to that inbetween stage where people just think you're fat or really bloated! Oh well :)
I just HAD to post this picture. Our little girl Abby, also fondly known as Stooby was hiding under our bed and I called her name and she peeked her little head out and I had to snap the picture :) Isn't she adorable!!
We got a great deal on a furniture set so we bought it already. (we're a little ahead of schedule!) But we have it in the room and set up. W'e're going to paint and decorate later once we know if it's a he or a she. Although I thought I'd never decorate with Pooh, I really really loved this bedding set. It's called "Soft and Fuzzy Pooh". Let me tell you it is DEFINITELY soft and fuzzy, even the bumper. Plus it has a variety of colors that we can bring out when we know the sex. There are a couple of accessories we'll buy that are Pooh, but other than that I don't want it to be a "Pooh room".
This is the Armoire for the set. It'll be nice later in life if we ever let our child have a TV in their room ;) Although it's hard to see, the changing table/dresser is beside the crib. I already have it full of diapers, wipes, and even some tiny socks and onesies :)

Just a closer look into the crib. I bought the kangaroo months and months ago and then we bought a little leopard at the zoo when we went for our anniversary. The night we put the crib together and a couple of days after, every time we'd walk into the room, we'd find our little kitty Holly sitting in the midle of the crib. She thinks it's hers! So now we keep the door shut!

Third Appointment

The begining of July I went to see the nurse practioner again for a check up and blood work and my mom was able to come with me. She hadn't heard the bab's heartbeat yet, so I wanted to make sure she could come and listen. Thankfully she didn't have to work that day. The very first thing Carol did was pull out the doppler and take a listen. She found the heartbeat right away and we could tell the baby was moving aroud and kicking by the sounds on the doppler. My mom got a little teary eyed :) The rate was running about 177 at that time I'm sure due to the gymnastics he/she was performing! Carol then pointed out that my uterus was growing nicely and felt like a cantelope! Haha! It was a great experience to have with mom!

A Very Special Baby!

On Father's Day, June 18, David and I had the pleasure of visiting our friends little girl Abigail at Akron Children's Hospital. She had been in there since she was born, almost exactly a month prior and this was our first chance to meet her. Doesn't David look like a natural?? :) The good news is that Abby was able to go home a few weeks ago and is doing very very well. She is truly a miracle and a blessing from the Lord!

This is Abby at 2 months old. Isn't she a cutie :)
