It's almost October and I can't believe it!! Luke will be a year old before I know it!! We've not been up to whole lot other than working and taking care of business :) Luke has been up to quite a bit though, that's for sure! Grandma Estes and Grandma Kandel have been taking turns watching him each about once a week while I work (especially day shift 7a -7p). The times that I work night shift and don't have to go in the next evening, I try to just come home in the morning after work and stay with Luke myself. It sometimes can be challenging being so tired, but I can at least grab a nap or two with Luke when he lays down. It was tough a couple of weeks ago though when he had a bad cold and would wake up screaming and get even snottier and couldn't breathe....poor thing! In a matter of about 1 week, Luke went from pulling himself up to kneeling in the crib, to crawling, and standing up! On Thursday about 2 1/2 weeks ago I found him reaching for his railing and saw him pull himselft to the kneeling position in the crib. That very night David put his mattress down to the next level. On Sunday before I left for work, he had pulled himself up to stand and I did a double take when I looked in on him! I was so surprised and was so THANKFUL that we had just lowered his mattress or I think we would have had a little boy on the floor. At the same time he finally went from rocking on his hands and knees to realizing his legs DO move too. So now he's off. We have to get gates up and our outlet plugs in as just last night he was reaching for plugs! Little stinker! So I think it's all over from here! He's on the move! He likes eating his big boy foods too now, yogurt, and cottage cheese. Haven't found anything yet that he doesn't like :)
This is just a video from the other night of Luke crawling a little and standing up to the couch.
